Mouse by Marcus Sterz of FaceType is a free pixel font built from hard-edged rectangular modules and sharply stepped curves. Its letters are broad and solid, with square gaps cut deep into the strokes. The low-resolution construction looks direct and unmistakably digital.
Album packaging and game graphics can draw on its blunt electronic texture, which recalls early computer screens, arcade cabinets, and homemade digital art. Event posters and merchandise are another convincing fit, since all four settings benefit from lettering that can function as both a title and a block-built piece of interface imagery rather than ordinary neutral type.
