Bluelmin Ronald by Paulo W. is a free brush script with a fast, forceful silhouette. Broad strokes change width abruptly, and their blunt ends, sharp turns, and tightly packed joins make the lettering look vigorously painted rather than carefully penned.

Music, street culture, and action sports match its restless movement, making it well suited to posters and merchandise. It feels immediate and physical. For a record label or clothing brand, the sweeping capitals and compact lowercase forms can turn a name into a rough, recognizable signature.

Bluelmin Ronald is based on the work of Charles Bluemlein, a penman and calligrapher best known for producing a series of script alphabets for the Higgins Ink Company of Brooklyn, New York. These scripts were published in Script and Manuscript Lettering in the 1940s. Charles Bluemlein was among the last members of the North American penmanship tradition of the golden era.

Although the original name was Bluemlein, Bluelmin was chosen for this series of fonts.

The OpenType version includes six extra glyphs accessible through the glyph palette or the contextual alternates OpenType feature, plus a “G” glyph available through the Special Set 01 feature.
