EngebrechtreEx Bold is a free condensed sans serif designed by Ray Larabie of Typodermic Fonts Inc. Its tall, closely fitted letters combine broad vertical strokes with clipped joins and unexpectedly slim sections, giving the face a tense, engineered silhouette.

It is especially convincing for music posters, where the compressed forms can turn a performer or event name into a dense band of lettering. The same hard-edged construction suits sports merchandise, action-game graphics, and industrial packaging, each benefiting from its blunt impact and economical width. Across these uses, the shared thread is a need for emphatic type with a distinctly mechanical edge.

Engebrechtre is a stressed sans-serif font created in 2000. The revised version was rebuilt from the regular weight with new spacing, kerning, and horizontal precision for web use. The S and accents were redesigned, and additional languages are supported. The italics use round dots rather than slanted dots. The fonts also include additional mathematical symbols, fractions, numeric ordinals, a new @ symbol, and the Indian rupee symbol. Vertical metrics were optimized for web performance.

The fonts include a desktop license that allows free commercial use. This permits installing the fonts on a computer and using them to create posters, web graphics, game graphics, T-shirts, videos, signs, logos, and other works. See the license agreement for details.
