Fontana Bold Italic by Neale Davidson is a free modern display font with a forceful forward slant and extremely dense strokes. Its tall, compressed letters alternate rounded outer curves with sharp diagonal cuts. The spacing feels deliberately tight and fast.
Sportswear brands and motorsport events can use its speed-driven silhouette for logos, posters, and merchandise. The cutaway corners and narrow inner openings echo racing stripes and streamlined vehicle graphics, so the lettering becomes part of the theme.

Fontana is based on the titling used by Pocket Books for its Star Trek novels during the 1970s and most of the 1980s. It includes accented characters, extended punctuation, the euro symbol, and bold and italic versions. It is named after DC Fontana, a Star Trek author.
