Hand TypeWriter by Imagex is a free old-school typewriter display font. Its lanky, uneven letters combine hairline serifs, rounded joins, shifting stroke widths, and loose proportions, recalling text struck by a worn machine but stretched to an exaggerated height that gives the design a theatrical, slightly eccentric edge.

A period poster is its strongest setting, with book covers, music artwork, and cafe packaging offering equally credible places for its offbeat mechanical character. The irregular letter shapes can echo stamped labels, photocopied illustrations, or distressed paper textures, letting the type become part of the printed imagery rather than simply naming it.
