KingjolA by Lars Manenschijn is a free medieval blackletter font built from steep thick-to-thin strokes, broken contours, and small thorn-like projections that give the lettering a dark hand-cut appearance. Pointed tops and hooked flourishes sharpen the narrow letterforms.

Historical publishing and fantasy game graphics ask for different kinds of atmosphere, yet the jagged manuscript shapes give both a convincing visual link to stories of old legends, ritual, and heraldry.
