Matchstick by OCADU student Alan Thatcher is a free decorative display font built around thick geometric strokes and round joint-like dots. Each letter turns the repeated bar-and-circle motif into a compact piece of lettering. The forms are playful and mechanical.
The matchstick-like construction connects easily with diagrams and simple geometric illustration, making it useful for children's activity packaging, science event posters, and game graphics. In magazine covers and feature openers, the dotted joints can become part of an illustrated theme rather than serving as neutral type.
