Ol' Cowboy ExtraBold, created by Kevin Christopher of KC Fonts, is a free eroded Western display font with broad, weighty letterforms. Its uneven edges, chipped surfaces, and blunt slab serifs resemble type stamped onto weathered timber or an old frontier poster.

Rodeos, country music, and frontier-themed entertainment suit its rough-hewn lettering. It is especially convincing on event posters. The distressed texture also gives packaging, bar signage, and merchandise the look of marks worn down by dust and repeated handling, tying each use to American Western imagery.
