Pavane

Pavane, by David F. Nalle of Scriptorium Font Library, is a free calligraphic script font with a courtly, Renaissance air. The letters move with long, tapering strokes and airy curls, while the generous capitals and open lowercase shapes keep the rhythm graceful rather than fussy.

It suits invitations, poetry titles, recital programs, historical book covers, and restaurant menus where a little ceremony helps set the tone. As a free font, Pavane also works nicely for short headlines, monograms, and title cards, because those sweeping entries and exits give even a few words the feeling of a formal signature.
