Rough Typewriter Bold Italic by Jason Arthur is a free eroded typewriter display font with broad slab serifs and uneven, ink-starved edges. Its sturdy letters have scattered breaks that recall a heavily used ribbon.

Publishing is its strongest medium, especially for crime covers and period-themed magazine features. The same battered print texture suits gig posters and rugged product packaging. Designers working in pulp fiction, alternative music, or vintage Americana will find its rough mechanical voice especially apt.

This typewriter font is free. It includes four versions: regular, italic, bold, and bold italic. It also includes automatic ligatures for doubled letters, such as aa, bb, cc, and ee.
