Velvet Drop, designed by Mr Frukta, also known as Frolov Alexey, is a free eroded display font with massive, rounded letterforms and a distinctly retro silhouette. Scratches and scattered chips give the dense strokes a worn, screen-printed surface.
Music and nightlife are its clearest territory, with enough punch for concert posters, club branding, and record packaging aimed at loud, nostalgic campaigns. Its swollen shapes and distressed finish also suit skate merchandise and festival graphics rooted in gritty 1970s-inspired design with psychedelic or underground music themes.
