Waschkueche Grob Ultra, designed by Peter Wiegel of CAT Webdesign Wolgast, is a free chunky slab serif display font. Broad, uneven strokes press into blunt rounded serifs, giving every letter a dense, slightly clumsy silhouette with lively hand-cut edges.
The lumpy contours echo bold cartoon drawing, so the lettering can become part of the illustration on children's book covers, posters, and comic entertainment. It also suits playful snack packaging and merchandise. Its exaggerated weight fits slapstick, carnival, and rustic workshop themes, especially when lettering needs to look drawn rather than typeset.
