Maiers Neue Nr. Pro reduced Halbfett by Ingo Zimmermann and Karl O. Maier of ingoFont Augsburg is a free condensed sans serif with a forceful architectural build. Tall, tightly drawn letters combine broad vertical strokes with squared curves and sharp diagonal cuts, creating a dense pattern with crisp internal openings.

Its industrial, modernist character makes it especially convincing for music posters, sports branding, and event graphics. The compressed proportions also suit packaging and magazine covers, particularly for subjects linked to machinery, urban culture, or hard-edged electronic music.

A technical font dating from around 1900.

The script was found in a magazine from the Otto Maier publishing house in Ravensburg, issued sometime in the years before World War I. The magazine, titled Schriften-Sammlung für Techniker: Verkleinerte Schriften der wichtigsten Alphabete (Collection of Scripts for Technical Specialists: Reduced Scripts of the Most Important Alphabets), was published by Karl O. Maier. The original copy, produced using a galvanized plate, was only 7 centimeters wide. It served as a model for technical professions in which drawing captions were still written by hand.

The characters were scanned, digitized, and greatly enlarged.

The font can be downloaded free of charge from ingoFonts. The downloadable files contain only a reduced font consisting of uppercase and lowercase letters from A to Z and a to z.
