Maiers Neue Nr. Proreduced Leicht by Ingo Zimmermann and Karl O. Maier of ingoFont Augsburg is a free fixed-width geometric sans serif. Its extremely light strokes and tall proportions give the lettering an airy architectural profile. Boxy curves, angular joins, and sharply cut diagonals make familiar letters look engineered rather than neutral.

A poster for a contemporary architecture exhibition is an especially convincing use, as the precise forms echo plans, elevations, and structural drawings. The same measured character suits technology branding, album packaging, and editorial features, and its linear shapes can become part of diagrams, circuit patterns, or technical illustration.

This geometrical font for technicians, with characteristics of Art Nouveau, originated around 1900.

The script appears in a magazine from the Otto Maier publishing house in Ravensburg, issued sometime in the years shortly before World War I. The magazine, published by Karl O. Maier, is entitled Schriften-Sammlung für Techniker: Verkleinerte Schriften der wichtigsten Alphabete (Collection of Scripts for Technical Specialists: Reduced Scripts of the Most Important Alphabets). The original copy, produced using a galvanized plate, is only 7 centimeters wide. It served as a model for technical professions in which drawing captions were still written by hand.

The characters were scanned, digitized, and greatly enlarged. The uneven edges characteristic of handwritten script were retained in the digitized version.
